Torrential Rains Exacerbate Situation for Displaced Palestinians in Gaza, Officials Alert
Persistent rains over the past week have intensified the already dire circumstances of the vast number of evacuated civilians in the Gaza Strip, according to aid groups.
"Horrendous" Night Brings Grave Dangers
A official detailed the weather overnight as "awful", with downpours so severe that as much as 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the terrain.
"These conditions was really difficult for the residents. The heavy rains were so powerful... And the winds were so strong," said the official.
Officials express significant worry that young ones residing in temporary structures in soaked clothing will succumb to hypothermia and various ailments.
Casualties and Significant Loss
The health ministry have stated that one baby has passed away from hypothermia and at least 11 other people have lost their lives in roof cave-ins due to the harsh conditions.
Further statements suggest a increased fatality count. Spokespeople stated that multiple residential buildings had collapsed completely and many others had been partly destroyed.

Aid Operations Considered Insufficient
Agencies have stepped up shipments of tents, bedding and clothes since the halt in hostilities began, but they stress there is remains not enough aid getting in.
"Agencies are striving constantly to deliver that aid and to distribute it, but the magnitude of the necessities is so vast that we continue to see thousands of people and minors who are truly struggling every night," warned one official.
Ongoing Issues and Agreement Plans
The second phase of the agreement encompasses plans for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with political arrangements, the removal of troops, and other conditions.
Aid organizations have underscored the need for "increased and sustained relief to respond to immediate and future requirements."
The war was initiated by an assault in the autumn of 2023. Subsequent military operations have led to a high number of lives lost in the area, according to official figures.
