Hulu is Producing a Far Cry TV Series from the Creators of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The latest action-packed instalment that players explored was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and debuted back in October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is famous for embracing violence and mayhem with the same enthusiasm, all while presenting gripping, socially charged tales. Little surprise that FX's new order for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two visionaries whose work have represented all of those elements.
Show Details
Inspired by Ubisoft's successful video game property, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' format by having a new location and cast of characters in each season.
Key Producers
Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
We’ve shared outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is original, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what character that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for another season, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the producer.
“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX team always encourages me with their ongoing belief and support.”
“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology-style program. Each game is a variation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can shift from season to season, while always exploring the core of people through this complex and chaotic viewpoint, is a long-held aspiration. I’m eager to partner with Rob and introduce our shared unconventional, daring approach to the audience.”
A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
